We have installed one of our Cley Summerhouses in Swanley, Kent for a customer wanting a quality summerhouse to enjoy their outdoor space from. As all of our garden buildings are made to order, our customer was able to choose which of our exterior and interior design options they wanted for their Cley Summerhouse to tailor it to their personal requirements. This wooden summerhouse was hand-crafted from FSC® certified timber inside our Norfolk factory before being delivered and installed at our customer’s address by our installations team, which was included as part of the overall cost.

The Cley Summerhouse is traditionally shaped with an elegant hipped roof. It has four sets of windows fitted, with a single fixed window placed on either side of the double doors in the front of the building, and a double open window placed on both sides of this lovely summerhouse. Our customer opted for our 2.4 x 3.0m size for their Cley, but as this wooden summerhouse comes in a wide range of sizes, you can choose the size that is the perfect fit for your outdoor space. The hipped roof of our customer’s summerhouse is covered in cedar shingles and the exterior is clad with smooth shiplap. The Cley Summerhouse comes painted in our Exterior Paint System as standard, but you can upgrade your paint system to Farrow & Ball if you wish. Our customer did choose to do this, with the exterior of their wooden summerhouse painted in Farrow & Ball Pointing.

Internally, the Cley benefits from having the walls and ceiling insulated and lined. This will ensure our customer can comfortably use their quality summerhouse throughout the year. They have also chosen to have electrics installed so the summerhouse can be supplied with power and lighting. The walls and ceiling are lined with natural matchboard as standard, but our customer has upgraded to painted matchboard in our Internal Ivory, offering a light and bright finish. Our customer has also chosen to have a light oak lacquer applied to the floor. For further personalisation, you could opt to have one of our four engineered flooring options laid. It sits on top of the existing floorboards, with a layer of underlay in between the two, providing further insulating and sound-absorbing benefits.
