Quality Garden Sheds

A quality garden shed is widely considered an essential for homeowners across the world, and has been an emblem of the back garden for hundreds of years. Our quality garden sheds offer superior craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetic appeal. They are able to meet many different needs and requirements such as safe storage or a fully-equipped workshop space with all the bells and whistles, making it a worthy investment.

Why we recommend choosing a made to order shed vs pre-made

Pre-made sheds are often cheaper but they are limited in terms of size, materials used and build quality. These ‘off-the-shelf’ options will also require assembly, which can lead to issues with longevity if not done by a professional. Made to order options, such as our range of quality garden sheds, give you the ability to customise every aspect of the design to suit your requirements. This includes the size, layout, style, materials, finishes, and additional features such as windows, doors, shelving, and storage solutions. Customisation allows you to create a shed that not only meets your practical needs but also complements the style and architecture of your home and garden. What’s more, with a Crane garden shed, installation is included and is carried out by our professional fitting team.

Benefits of a quality garden shed

Customisation

The primary advantage of a quality garden shed is that you’ll be able to call the shots on all aspects of the design, ranging from the size of the shed to what roof covering you prefer. This will enable you to select the shape, style and materials that are best suited to your garden, lifestyle and even your geographical location.

Premium Materials

Quality garden sheds are typically handcrafted by skilled artisans or experienced carpenters who pay close attention to detail and take pride in their workmanship. Each component is carefully constructed and assembled to ensure structural integrity, stability, and longevity. Quality craftsmanship not only enhances the appearance of the shed but also contributes to its overall performance, durability and longevity. Our quality garden sheds are made from sustainably sourced FSC© certified Scandinavian Redwood timber which is known for its natural beauty and resilience to decay and insect damage.

Long-Term Value

While high-quality garden sheds may require a higher upfront investment compared to standard prefabricated models, they offer excellent long-term value in terms of durability, performance, and aesthetic appeal. A well-built shed can last for many years with proper maintenance, providing a valuable and versatile outdoor space for storage, work, relaxation, and leisure activities.

Our shed features & considerations

Additional Features

At Crane, we are proud to offer customised garden buildings through our carefully-considered service that walks you through each different design option to ensure that the shed is going to be perfect for you. Once you’ve selected the ideal size, you can then explore the different design and placement options of windows, cladding, interior features such as partitions, workbenches and flooring, and roofing types. There’s also a variety of paint systems to choose between, including a selection of Farrow & Ball shades and Sikkens preservative stains

Enhanced Security

During the design process of your garden shed, there are a range of additional extras that you can opt to include which we have explored above. For customers where security is a particular concern, we have developed our own three-step security pack for complete peace of mind. Consisting of integrated window bars, anti-theft bolts and a seven-lever mortice lock, the Crane security pack can easily be added to your garden shed, ensuring that everything inside is kept safe and secure.

Professional Installation

Each quality garden shed that we craft is made entirely by hand, before being carefully prepared and loaded for delivery. Every single delivery is carried out by our friendly and professional fitting team who also erect the shed on your property and ensure everything is as it should be. This includes pouring a level concrete base should you need one and the complete installation process. Professional installation to our exact specifications ensures that the shed is safe, secure, and built to last.

FAQs

Yes, delivery and installation are included in the price. This gives you peace of mind that your garden shed has been put together correctly and according to our specific tried and tested method.

If you’re a DIY enthusiast with the skills and know-how, you can of course design and build your own shed. However, buying a garden shed from Crane Garden Buildings takes all of this stress away for you. All Crane Garden Buildings include installation by our professional and experienced fitting team.

We offer a range of sizes to cater to different garden sizes and individual requirements. To find out what sizes are available, journey through the building configurator of your preferred building or get in touch with our team of designers for more information.

Our garden sheds are designed for low maintenance. Some basic maintenance like periodic cleaning and treating wood surfaces may be required to ensure they stay in top condition. We provide guidelines for easy upkeep.

An insulated garden shed is a popular choice with anyone who will also be using their shed as a workshop or to store valuables that could be damaged by damp and mould. Depending on which building you choose as your shed, you will have the option to have it unlined or lined and insulated for year-round use as an extra.

We provide a 10-year guarantee with most of our buildings. We also have a dedicated customer service team who will help you throughout the order process and be on hand to help with any questions post-installation. Find out more about our 10-year guarantee here.

The size of your garden shed will be based on your individual needs, and thus there isn’t a ‘minimum’ size of a garden shed. Our models, however, start as small as 1.2 x 1.8m.

In most cases, planning permission is not required for garden sheds, as they fall under ‘permitted development’. However, there may be certain size and location conditions to meet. If you would like to speak to one of our knowledgeable team about planning permission, please get in touch. In the meantime, take a look at our guide to planning permission.

Bespoke garden sheds can certainly be used all year-round for storage. If you’re planning to use your garden shed as a workshop or hobby room, we advise you opt for an insulated model to ensure you will be able to comfortably spend time inside throughout the year.

Our garden sheds are handcrafted using FSC© timber. We have a range of different roofing materials including felt, cedar shingles, composite tiles and black corrugated steel.

We offer double-glazing options for our sheds, providing additional insulation and noise reduction.

We use sustainably sourced timber in our sheds, ensuring our products are environmentally friendly. Find out more about our sustainably sourced timber.

Yes, we offer an electric pack extra on our garden sheds which pre-installs 4 double sockets, 1 external socket, an 8-way consumer unit, tube lightning on our sheds and garages and spotlights in our summer houses, studios, and garden rooms. There is also an option to have a wall-mounted heater and/or air conditioning unit for year round comfort whatever the weather. Please note, we are unable to connect your shed to your mains supply, this will need to be carried out by a qualified electrician.

We have 14 show centres across England where you can visit and view our luxury timber garden sheds. We always recommend coming to see our buildings before purchasing to allow you to see the quality and attention to detail that goes into each of our buildings.

It’s very important that our bespoke garden sheds are installed on a strong, level base. We offer an in-house base laying service, if you would like more information about this service please get in touch.
