Garden Room with Inset Doors in Egham Hythe

Once the customer has put comfy furnishings, maybe a dining table and chairs, a music system, a nice rug and a storage unit inside, this will be transformed into a lovely living area, separate from the house, that can be used as an entertainment area, or even just a quiet relaxation spot. At 3.6 x 4.2m in size, the customer will have more than enough room to do whatever they want with this space.

The roof is hipped (which means that the four corners of the roof come together to join at the peak), and grey slate composite tiles have been used as the roofing material; these have been fitted by hand, and they offer superb protection against the, somewhat unpredictable, British weather. White guttering has been used to frame the roof.

The customer opted for both inset doors, as well as corner boards which fit on all the corners of the building to give a complete and polished look. As standard, our Garden Rooms come with the doors flush to the building, but many people choose to have inset doors, to further enhance the appearance of the building.

There is a set of double doors at the front, with a window on either side of them. There are also two windows on each of the sides; all six windows open, and the glass used in all the windows (as well as in the doors) is lead lined.

The cladding is weatherboard, which is made up of horizontal sawn boards that are overlapped to create a slightly rustic look and finished in the colour Verdigris from our exterior paint system, and the windows and doors have been finished in contrasting Cream.

The interior is finished with floor, wall and roof insulation, as well as painted matchboard lining. The paint on the lining is a white satin paint that gives the inside of the building a nice, glossy sheen. The floor also has a Light Oak lacquer on it, which will help to protect it and increase its longevity.
