This large secure garden shed was recently installed at the Harefield Hospital in London to be utilised as a space for patients and volunteers to take respite. As a specialist hospital that provides treatment for heart and lung conditions, many patients find themselves having to spend extended lengths of time at Harefield hospital. In September 2021, the hospital opened the Harefield Healing Garden following three years of planning, fundraising, and hard work, giving patients a therapeutic place to escape to during their ongoing treatment.

The hospital was in need of a large potting shed to host workshops, and this 3.6 x 5.4m ex-display Superior Shed was the ideal fit. Like all our high-quality sheds, this FSC® certified garden shed was handcrafted by our skilled workers in our Norfolk factory, with delivery and installation included in the price.

The exterior of this large garden shed in Harefield, London, features our rustic weatherboard cladding, a spacious double door, and four sets of double windows. Essential that this garden shed is wheelchair accessible, the double door will allow for easy access for all patients whilst the multitude of windows will allow plenty of natural light to flood into the building to create a light and enjoyable space. There are also two opening windows on the right side of the building to allow for a fresh breeze during the warm months. The apex roof has been covered in our cedar shingle tiles which effortlessly complements the calming exterior colour, Green Smoke, from our Farrow & Ball paint system.

The interior of this high-quality garden shed is partially lined and insulated with double glazing and oak-faced internal lining to ensure that the building is not too cold to be enjoyed by patients all year round. The patients at Harefield Hospital will also benefit from the two workbenches that have been installed, giving them ample workspace to partake in workshops, alongside offering a desk-height surface for wheelchair patients to use. There has also been a three-step security pack fitted to this garden shed in Harefield, London, to ensure that all belongings are stored safely and securely with a seven-lever lock, security screws, and 13mm stainless steel window bars.
