This 8 x 14ft Timber Workshop is one of our Superior Sheds and it has been installed for a customer in need of a building for storing machinery and metalworking. Like all of our garden buildings, this Superior Shed has been designed to meet our customer’s requirements by our CAD engineers before being hand-crafted to order using FSC® certified timber inside the factory at our Norfolk HQ. It was then delivered and assembled at our customer’s address by our expert installations team, which is included in the price of our buildings as part of our end-to-end service.
Our customer opted for an apex roof design with a set of double doors in the gable and windows in the side of the building. The roof is covered in heavy duty felt, which is applied with a propane torch to increase its longevity, and the windows are double glazed and Georgian in style. There are seven windows on this building in total (which includes two in the double doors). Out of the five windows in the side of the shed, three of them are opening to help with air circulation inside. The building is clad with smooth shiplap, treated with a light oak preservative to protect the timber from fungi and woodworm.
As our customer wanted to be able to work inside all-year-round, they opted to have the inside of the building fully lined with oak faced ply and insulated to ensure it was suitable for use whatever the weather outside. They have also chosen to have an electric with heater installed to supply their building with power, lighting and additional warmth, and our heavy-duty floorboards have been fitted to support the weight of heavy machinery installed inside.
