The Best Garden Gym Garden Buildings

10% off January Sale Crane

Whether you are a long-time gym goer fed up of crowded leisure centres, someone on a journey to a healthier lifestyle who wants to work out in the privacy of their own back garden, or a fitness instructor looking for a new venue to teach in, garden buildings make for excellent garden gyms.

No matter what style of exercise you are into, using a garden building as a home gym is ideal because it can be made to the size you require and tailored to your specific fitness needs with a range of interior and exterior design options. You can also choose the style of your building so that it suits your personal preferences and complements the look of your outdoor space, whether that’s a modern garden gym or a traditional outdoor gym building.

To give you some inspiration for your own building, we have put together the best garden gym garden buildings from our vast collection, with some of their best features and why we think they would be a great home gym for your garden.

Modern Garden Gyms

3.0 x 3.6m Holt Studio

Many of our modern garden gym buildings have a pent roof with plenty of glazing as part of their design, making it a good choice for a Yoga or Pilates studio. The amount of glazing on our modern garden gyms will flood the interior with plenty of natural light and offer you the opportunity to look out to your garden while you work out. Our Holt Studio has two walls of glazing for unhindered views and our Salthouse Studio has a fully glazed front elevation made using floor-to-ceiling glass panels.

3.6 x 4.8m Salthouse Studio

Both designs have a pent roof but if you would prefer something with a pitched roof, our Burnham could be the solution. It has all the modern light benefits of fully glazed walls but with an apex roof that gives a more traditional feel. The extra height from the apex roof may be beneficial if you have tall workout machines, such as a multi-gym.

Traditional Garden Gyms

4.8 x 3.6m Blakeney Summerhouse

If your outdoor space would suit a more traditional design or your personal preference would be to have a garden gym building that is more classic in style, many of our more traditional garden buildings make great garden gyms too.

3.6 x 6.0m Garden Room

Our signature garden room has a classically elegant design with four double sets of opening windows included as standard. The opening windows will allow air to flow through which can be useful to help you cool down after an intense cardiovascular workout. You could also opt to have Velux® windows installed in the roof for extra ventilation.

3.0 x 3.0m Wiveton Summerhouse

Alternatives you may want to consider for a more traditional garden gym design are our Wiveton and Blakeney. The Wiveton is octagonal in shape with windows in four out of its eight sides, as well as in the double doors, while the Blakeney has a chalet-style design that will bring a sense of the beach to your workouts. They both have different shapes and styling that will look attractive in your garden while also being a practical home gym building.

Multifunctional Garden Gyms

When it comes to choosing the best garden gym garden building, you will want to consider the design of the building, as well as the overall style and aesthetic, as it will play a part in how best you use the space.

4.8 x 4.8m Pavilion Garden Room

You can opt for a garden building with a veranda to offer interior and exterior space to enjoy. Our Pavilion Garden Room and our Morston Summerhouse have a sheltered veranda surrounded by a picket fence so you can take workouts outside on warmer weather days. You could even meditate or strengthen your core with some Yoga poses on the veranda while watching the sunrise.

3.0 x 5.4m Holt Studio

If you would like a bigger outdoor space to enjoy, our Holt Studio can be designed with a veranda that extends to the side by up to 3.0m, so you could use the space to home a hot tub to use for after-workout relaxation.

2.4 x 4.2m Thornham Summerhouse

If your workouts require extra equipment that you might not always want out or on display, such as free weights or workout mats, you should consider a garden gym building with a partition to create an additional storage area. Many of our designs can be adapted to include this.

Our garden rooms are versatile and can be tailored for a multitude of uses, so as well as a garden gym, they can be used as a garden office, hobby room, and extended living space where you can entertain family and friends or relax by yourself in peaceful solitude.

As our garden buildings are hand-made to order, they can be tailored to your individual requirements with many different sizes, styles, and interior and exterior design options available.

You can view our range of FSC® certified timber garden buildings online, but to get a true feel for the quality of the materials we use to hand-craft each one, we would recommend paying a visit to one of our UK show centres. Here, you will be able to take a closer look at our display models and get inspiration for the design options for your own building.

If you would like to discuss your requirements with us before you visit, or if you have any questions about any of our garden building designs, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our friendly advisors will be more than happy to assist with any queries and use their knowledge about our buildings to recommend the one that is best suited to your requirements and style preferences. You can get in touch with us by emailing sales@cranegardenbuildings.co.uk or calling Crane HQ on 01760 444229.
