To save space in the garden, the customer wanted the shed as close to the back corner as possible, so they opted to have a pent roof to ensure it falls under planning regulations height (2.5m). If the customer chose an apex roof of this size, they would have had to apply for Planning Permission, which they didn’t want to do.
The customer wanted a shed that blended well with both the garden and their house, so they chose a neutral paint colour, Ash, which is from our exterior paint system that gives an opaque, multi-layered coverage of paint in a range of 15 natural colours, and the choice of Georgian windows matches the style of windows on their house.
Heavy-duty felt has been used on the roof, which is a construction-grade felt: it is heat-bonded onto the roof with a propane torch, and it is a highly durable, waterproof material that has a life expectancy of 12-15 years.
