Our Holkham Summerhouse comes with windows in three out of the four sides, as well as in the double doors, to offer a light and airy feel inside. The windows are all made using 4mm toughened safety glass, with our customer opting for single opening windows either side of the door, a double opening window set in one end and a non-opening double set in the other. It also has a pitched roof covered in heavy duty roof felt, which is applied with a propane torch to increase its longevity.
The Holkham comes unlined as standard for purely summer use, but as our customer wanted to be able to comfortably use their building all year round, they have opted to add full internal lining and insulation on the walls, floor and ceiling as extra. They have chosen our highest-grade tongue and groove natural matchboarding on the walls and ceiling and our heavy-duty floorboards (ex 38mm thick) to cover the floor.
The building has been clad with our rustic-cut weatherboard cladding and finished with a Light Oak Preservative, which will give the timber a nice sheen while also protecting it from fungi and woodworm.
