This Holkham Summerhouse is 8 x 16ft (2.4 x 4.8m), and it has been installed in our customer’s garden to use for two purposes with the help of a partition that splits the building.
The two sections are both 2.4 x 2.4m in size, giving equal room for both purposes. The left-hand section of this Holkham is the summerhouse section: it has half-glazed double doors, and three sets of leaded windows, with the double set on the left gable being opening to allow fresh air inside. This section will be used as a comfortable seating area to help the customer and their family to enjoy their garden more.
The right-hand side of this Holkham is the storage section with a single door to allow the customer to keep garden storage, tools, and garden furniture inside, out of the way, and safe.
In terms of style, the customer chose a simple design, which will allow them to personalise the building themselves in the future if they wish to. Externally, our heavy duty felt has been heat-bonded to the roof to increase its longevity, the exterior cladding is shiplap to give a smooth finish, and the customer chose to keep the building looking natural with our Light Oak preservative.
Internally, both sections are unlined, although if they wish to, the customer could easily choose to line and insulate, and even paint the inside of their summerhouse to make it an even more enjoyable space.
While the customer has not chosen to, the Holkham, along with our other summerhouses, are made to order in our Norfolk factory, so they can be painted in a range of opaque natural paint colours from our Exterior or Farrow & Ball’s paint ranges, they can have either cedar shingle tiles or slate effect tiles on the roof, they can have different window styles, be fully lined and insulated, and even have electrics. It completely depends on how you would like to use your building, and how you want it to look in your garden.
