8 x 12ft Traditional Summerhouse

This 8 x 12ft (2.4 x 3.6m) Holkham Summerhouse has been installed in our customer’s garden to be used as attractive storage shed.

The Holkham is an apex roof summerhouse, with the design capabilities of being as basic or complex as you wish. As standard, it is an unlined, unpainted summerhouse with felt on the roof, but it can be made into a year-round usage building with lining and insulation, double glazed windows, a wide choice of paint colours, an electric pack, and either cedar shingles or slate effect tiles on the roof.

This customer wanted a simple building that looked pretty in their garden to allow them to store their garden furniture inside, among other things. On the apex roof, they chose to have our heavy-duty, torched on felt, which offers durable, weather-proof protection, shiplap exterior cladding for a smooth finish on the timber, and the building has been painted in our light oak stain to help protect the timber from woodworm and fungi.

One of the extra features the customer did opt for is our leaded windows to add a bit of traditional style to the building. The double doors with half-glazed windows and windows in the rest of the building will allow plenty of natural insides, meaning that if they decided they wanted to use their building as an actual summerhouse, they very easily could.

The inside of the summerhouse is unlined, but the customer chose to also have two extra windows to help to add more light inside.
