This 10 x 12ft Summerhouse is one of our Morston Summerhouses, and it was selected by our customer to be somewhere they can relax throughout the year. There are six styles of buildings available in our summerhouse range, but our customer opted for the Morston as they liked the idea of sitting out on its shaded veranda during warm summer days.
Our customer had a specific place in mind for where they wanted their building to be installed, they wanted it to sit in a spot that was next to the hot tub and decking in their garden. In order to make it fit with our customer’s garden, our in-house CAD engineers were able to design the building to meet that requirement. As all of our buildings are hand-made to order by the skilled craftsmen and women inside the factory at our Norfolk HQ, we are able to tailor them to fit the specifications of our customers. Delivery and installation of this building was included as part of the end-to-end service we offer.
Our Morston Summerhouses usually come with chalet-style doors and windows as standard, but as our customer preferred the look of windows used on our Cley & Holkham Summerhouses, we were able to install summerhouse double doors with a single summerhouse window placed either side. Our customer also chose to have a set of double windows placed in the left hand side of their building (as opposed to the single window on both sides that come as standard) as they wanted to look out onto the side of the garden that gets the most sunshine.
To decorate the exterior, our customer has opted to have the overhanging roof covered with torched-on heavy duty roofing and the smooth FSC® certified shiplap cladding painted in the colour Mouse’s Back from the Farrow & Ball Paint System. The Farrow & Ball paints we offer are shades that have been especially selected by us for their natural and neutral colourings, which we think complement our buildings perfectly.
Internally, our Morston Summerhouses usually come unlined to make them purely for use during the summer months, but as our customer wanted a building they could comfortably use all year round, they have chosen to have it fully lined and insulated. They have opted to have the matchboard lining on the walls painted in Ivory from our interior paint system and the floor to be treated with a natural lacquer, which will help protect the timber while also giving it a nice sheen. They’ve also added an electric pack onto their building as extra, this will ensure that the building can benefit from power and lighting.
