Jewellery Craft Room

This craft room is our Salthouse Studio, selected by a customer who crafts jewellery in their spare time. They wanted a space outside of their home to work in so that they could turn their passion project and hobby into their full-time business.

The Salthouse is a contemporary style building with a pent roof that features a charming overhang. It has a fully glazed front elevation, with a single floor-to-ceiling glazed panel on either side, which will flood the interior with an abundance of natural light. Having an outdoor craft room that let in plenty of light was of the utmost importance to our customer, which is why they selected this design.

As well as ensuring their garden craft room had lots of light, it was also essential to our customer that it was fully equipped for year-round use. Our Salthouse Studio comes fully insulated, lined, and double glazed, ensuring comfortable working conditions for our jewellery-making customer in every season. 

Our customer has opted to have the walls and ceiling lined in natural matchboard, which is the standard lining option for this building, but for an alternative look, you can have painted matchboard in either our internal Ivory or your choice of 8 Farrow & Ball internal colours.

For further practicality, our customer has opted to have our electric pack installed, adding spotlights in the ceiling for more light and four double switched sockets so they can plug in any equipment they need to create their jewellery pieces.

External features chosen by our customer include guttering and heavy duty felt covering the roof, as well as smooth shiplap cladding which has been painted in the colour Verdigris from our Exterior Paint System. The Salthouse comes painted in your choice of colour from our Exterior Paint System. We have 15 colours for you to choose from, or you can upgrade your exterior paint to one of 12 specially selected Farrow & Ball colours.

Our customer had a specific spot in their garden by the apple trees where they wanted their new jewellery craft room installed, which is why they opted to have a Salthouse measuring 2.4 x 3.0m. As all of our garden buildings are hand-crafted to order inside our Norfolk factory, they can be made in a variety of sizes and with a wide range of interior and exterior design options, meaning you can have a Salthouse that is smaller or bigger in size with all the features you require.
