To make this building suitable for multiple uses, the customer planned the design carefully. The size the customer chose was 4.8 x 6.0m, and to help them get the most use out of the building, they chose to have garage double doors to the right of the front gable, allowing that side of the garage for car storage. This leaves the left-hand side for their workshop/storage space.
To help the garage feel like an appropriate workshop space, the customer chose to have three sets of our double-glazed studio windows with top and side opening windows to allow for plenty of ventilation, as well as a half-glazed studio door. This glazing will give the customer a pleasing view of their house and garden from the inside and will allow enough light inside for him to work by.
To provide additional storage space, the customer also asked if we could increase the roof pitch, allowing him to create storage space among the roof trusses.
In terms of the aesthetics of this building, the customer chose grey slate effect tiles on the roof for a durable and attractive finish, and the paint colour, Pebble from our Exterior paint range was chosen to create a neutral colour scheme. Weatherboard cladding helps to give a more rustic effect to the outside, and the building has been finished with black guttering to help catch excess rainfall from flowing down the sides of the building, and therefore increasing its longevity.
All our buildings are handmade by local craftsmen in our Norfolk based factory, and great care and attention is taken with everything we do.
