This particular Flatford Summerhouse is 2.4 x 2.4m in size, and has a pent roof with a slight overhang over the front side, which provides the building with shelter and protection from wind and rain.
The spacious summerhouse features windows all the way round to be able to enjoy the garden view whilst inside. There are four windows in total, two of which are opening. The windows are cross leaded in style, made with toughened glass.
The roof has been covered with durable olden style corrugated material to make it even more weather resistant. This also gives the summerhouse a traditional style, alongside the vertical sawn cladding and cast iron Fleur-de-Leys style door accessories and mortice lock. The colour of this Flatford is Earls Grey, which is a neutral-toned, off-white colour. Earls Grey is just one of the six colours from the National Trust palette you can choose to paint the exterior of our National Trust Sheds and Summerhouses.
