Garden Sewing Room

This Summerhouse is our Flatford Summerhouse, selected from our range of FSC® certified timber buildings by a customer who wanted a characterful sewing room to enjoy pursuing her ultimate hobby.

Measuring 1.8 x 2.4m, the Summerhouse boasts several characterful features that pay homage to the properties preserved by the trust. These include the rustic-cut, vertically-sawn timber, cast-iron door furniture with intricate Fleur-de-Leys detailing, leaded windows and a pent roof covered with traditional corrugated material. The exterior of the Summerhouse is painted in the National Trust inspired shade of Disraeli Green, which is one of six paint colours available across our National Trust range. 

Internally, our customer has beautifully self-converted the summerhouse into her own hobby room with insulation, tongue and groove wainscoting, electrics and a lick of paint. During the warmer months, the two opening side windows and double doors will allow a breeze to pass through and during the winter, the building will hugely benefit from the insulation and electrics that she has added herself.

We love this crafty little nook as it truly shows that a little imagination can go a long way when it comes to having your own garden building and decorating it yourself. While our National Trust range of buildings are unlined, we can offer a complete all-in-one building package if this is desired. Our own range of Summerhouses and Studios can be insulated, lined and internally painted with electrics just to name a few options available throughout our design process.
