Corner summerhouses are clever space-saving solutions that allow you to enjoy every inch of your garden to its fullest. With intelligent angular designs, this style of bespoke summerhouse is perfect for those who only have a limited outdoor area, or just want to opt for a unique style of garden building that suits their home.

As with any other design of summerhouses, you’ll still be able to enjoy the beautiful traditional wood look and select a range of optional extras to customise the building and make it a reflection of your style and taste.

What is a corner summerhouse?

A corner summerhouse is a type of outdoor structure or garden building that is designed to fit snugly into the corner of a garden or outdoor space. It typically features a distinctive triangular or pentagonal shape, with walls that meet at a right angle to maximise space utilisation and create a cosy retreat within the corner of the garden.

Why have a corner summerhouse?

A corner summer house, just like a regular summerhouse, offers a peaceful retreat at the bottom of your garden that you can use for a wide range of purposes. Be it a reading nook, a hobby room or even a summerhouse with a shed attached for storage, it’s there to be used as your own personal haven. Summerhouses are also known for their effortless indoor-outdoor flow, which creates a close connection to the nature of your garden and so enables you to admire the local flora and fauna and simply enjoy the fresh air feeling of spending time outdoors.

The benefits of a corner summerhouse

The corner placement

As the name suggests, a corner summerhouse is specifically designed to be installed in the corner of a garden or outdoor area. Its triangular or pentagonal shape allows it to fit neatly into the corner, making efficient use of space and minimising its footprint.

Versatile, year-round usage

A corner summer house can be used for a plethora of purposes. You might want to create your own man cave or she shed, giving you a space to relax away from the main home, or you might transform the summerhouse into your dream WFH space for productive workdays. The options really are endless.

Customisation options

When you choose to invest in a corner summerhouse from a reliable and renowned manufacturer, you’ll often have the luxury of choosing from a menu of customisation options which will range from simple things such as size, insulation and roof materials to advanced interior considerations such as window hardware, two-tone paint palettes and heating or air-conditioning units.

We firmly believe that we produce summer houses that are of superior quality in the market as we have over 50 years of experience allowing us to perfect the way we build as well as using only the highest quality materials such as FSC® certified timber and tried and tested paint systems. Quality goes into everything we do, which is also why we offer a 10-year guarantee on all garden buildings in our core range.

Absolutely. We offer various customisation options to ensure your modern summer house reflects your unique taste and complements your garden perfectly.

Certainly. The Weybourne, which is our traditional style corner summer house is lined & insulated as standard which will keep the interior comfortable throughout the year. We also have an electric pack extra which will include an 8-way consumer unit as well as internal plug sockets for you to add a heater in the colder months.

Maintenance is minimal. It’s recommended that the roof is kept clean from any build-up of leaves, debris, and moss especially over the winter months. The same applies to the windows, they should be cleaned regularly to prevent any decaying debris eating away at the paint and woodwork. Always check for any damage to the roof or cladding which could potentially let damp in. It’s also good practice to open the windows occasionally to ensure there is sufficient ventilation inside which will also help to prevent any mould from developing.

Depending on the size and design, it could take anywhere from half a day to five days to install. Five days would be for our larger, fully lined and insulated buildings.

In most cases, planning permission is not required for summer houses, as they fall under ‘permitted development’. However, there may be certain size and location conditions to meet. We recommend you check with your local planning authority for specific details. In the meantime, take a look at our guide to planning permission.

Yes. We have an optional electric pack available on all bespoke summer houses that are lined & insulated. It’s important that if you would like to have electricity in your luxury summer house that you also choose to have it lined & insulated as this will help to protect the power supply from damage caused by damp and mould, preventing a potential fire hazard.

Our electric pack extra includes 4 double sockets, 1 external double socket, 1 8-way consumer unit, spotlights, and the chance to add in exterior spotlights (Holt and Salthouse only) as well as a wall heater and/or air conditioning unit.

We provide a 10-year guarantee with most of our buildings. We also have a dedicated customer service team who will help you throughout the order process, and will be on-hand to help with any questions post-installation as well. Find out more about our 10-year guarantee.

We offer finance plans across our full range of garden buildings to suit your needs, so whether you're looking for a simple storage shed, a summerhouse or a garden office, we're here to help make your garden project that much more achievable.
