The Many Uses of Summerhouses

A Summerhouse will certainly add charm and character to your garden, but it will also give you additional living, relaxation and storage space. It can be used as a room for crafting or a home office, a space to socialise and entertain, or somewhere to escape and enjoy some alone time. You could even use one for all those functions!

To offer some inspiration, we thought we would share some of our previous customer transformations, as well as some photos of our favourite dressed buildings for further insight.

Sitting/reading room

Many of our customers choose to use their summerhouse as a relaxation room where they can retreat and enjoy the peace and quiet of their garden. By adding a comfy sofa or a pair of armchairs, furniture like a coffee table or sideboard, and finishing touches such as a reed diffuser and family photos, you’ll have a homely sitting room where you can pop your feet up and unwind.

If you are a keen reader, you may also want to install a bookshelf to hold some of your favourite reads, in order to create a cosy garden reading nook.

Garden office

A Summerhouse does not necessarily have to be a summer house, purely for use in the summer months. Many of our customers want a building that is pretty on the outside and practical on the inside to allow them to work comfortably at home, while also being able to look outside from their house and admire the look of their garden building too.

Tennis pavilion/pool house

Summerhouses can also make for fantastic sporting buildings. For example, some of our previous customers have had summerhouses installed by their tennis courts so they have somewhere to cool down between sets or as a viewing platform.

Pumps and chemicals can be stored in the smaller part of the building, while the main part is used for relaxing and drying off after a refreshing swim.

Playroom/games room

A summerhouse is a great option for a garden building turned playroom as it will give your children an extra space where they are able to play as they wish and make mess in. It is not just your little ones who will benefit from this, because when your children get older and want more of a separate space, it can be turned into a games room for them to use where you know they are still safe.
