Contemporary Garden Rooms
Contemporary can be taken to mean modern, current or fashionable. In some cases, contemporary has evolved to mean a little outrageous or extreme too!
In very basic terms, usually what contemporary translates to with Garden Rooms is large areas of glass, combined with timber. Add clean, square lines and a contemporary garden room is born! Of course, how the building is finished is entirely up to the customer. Modifications can be made to the standard specifications, simply communicate your requirements to one of the teams who will ensure that you receive your dream Garden Room.
Whether a Garden Building requires planning permission is a question that we are often asked; the good news is that, in most cases, planning permission is not required (there are some exceptions - for example if you live in a listed building). Use our Planning Permission Calculator (right) to find out whether you will need planning permission for your individual property.
There are many designers and manufacturers of contemporary Garden Buildings. We would suggest that you take a good look at the quality of the build and never forsake quality for style as there is no need to. Always try to view the buildings if possible. We have nine-show centres located around the UK, each of which, displays a vast selection of garden buildings allowing you to experience the luxury for yourself.
By far our most popular contemporary design is our insulated Salthouse Studio, with a fully glazed front and panels to the side and pent roof. The design showcases a highly contemporary look and offers plenty of natural light.
The quality of our timber is high and used by our expert team to craft our buildings so there is absolutely no compromise on the performance of the product. Each studio is lined and insulated as standard and can be fitted with an electrical pack with heating, enabling you to use the room all year round whatever the weather. We can paint the interior for an even more contemporary feel or leave it natural if you prefer, and you can have the externals finished in either Farrow & Ball or our Exterior Paint System, which boasts a long re-decoration cycle. We offer Sedum roofing as an alternative look and another contemporary element as well.
Our Weybourne, Blakeney, and Morston models from our collection of Summerhouses, as well as our Garden Room range, can also be constructed with a more contemporary look, depending on your choice of window style and colour etc.
