The customer has got a large, and somewhat quirky garden, with this picture being taken through a hole in a water feature (luckily it had been turned off) in their garden.
This Wiveton has got Cedar Shingle Tiles on the roof; Just one of several roofing options available, these start off as a nice terracotta colour, then, because they are a natural material, as they age, they will start to silver. This usually happens after around six months and it gives the buildings a wonderful matured look.
The shape of this summerhouse is an octagon, with a set of double doors in the front panel, a set of two windows in each of the four panels working your way back from the front panel, and then the back three panels are solid with oak faced ply lining on the inside. The Wiveton has got insulation in the ceiling and walls, so the customer can use it throughout the winter months as well, if they so wish to.
The cladding is shiplap, which gives the timber the smooth appearance that you can see in the photo. The summerhouse has been painted in Sage from our exterior paint system, which is an opaque paint that offers a weather-resistant coverage to protect the timber with. It is also a rubberised paint, as it will actually flex with the movement of the timber as it contracts and moves with the changing weather throughout the year to ensure that the paint doesn’t crack.
