Built within modern planning requirements the height of this build sits just under 2.5 m, at a width of 1.8m to offer plenty of space for a small table and chairs within. The exterior of this build was designed to offer a really unique feel, following the traditional design of the outbuildings at Ickworth House, using a rustic-cut, vertical saw cladding painted in Terrace Green. The leaded style of the windows leans into this traditional stylistic choice, along with the Fleur-de-Leys style black cast iron detailing for the door and window furniture.
Internally, our National Trust Summerhouse are kept simple with no lining, meaning they are perfect for summer-use. The chalet-style roof overhang offers an attractive flair to the design, while offering a small amount of shade cover for the occupants inside; however, plenty of natural light can flood the room with the number of windows and double doors, offering the customer a great view of the garden when inside. The windows on each side can also be opened, and the double doors can be pinned back, allowing for plenty of fresh air to flow through the building on hot summer days.
